Boyer states that Iwerydd's father was Cynfyn ap Gwerystan ap Gwaithford of Powys. Boyer estimates his birth 1000[1] while Wolcott estimates it as 990.
Miscellanea Genealogica states that she was the daughter of Cynfyn ap Gwerystan ap Gwaithfoed Vawr, and that she was a sister of Bleddyn ap Cynfyn, King of Powys.[4]
Her mother was not Angharad ferch Maredydd, but rather Cynfyn's first wife.
Wolcott notes that some believe Iwerydd ferch Cynfyn was a child by Cynfyn's first wife, who might have been a daughter of an Irish/Danish king whose realm included Man. [5]
This was likely not her birthname, but a nickname to denote her Irish mother, who may have died during this birth. She was given in marriage to Edwin of Tegeingl about 1050, but probably had a first unknown husband.[6] Iwerydd, m. Edwin ap Gronwy of tegeingl [7]
The Chronicle of the Princes of Wales records that "Iweryd the mother of Owain and Uchtryd, the sons of Edwin king of Tegeingl, and Bleddyn son of Cynvyn were sister and brother by the same father but not the same mother, as Angharad daughter of Maredudd was the mother of Bleddyn"[687]. m Edwin ap Gronw, son of Gronw ap Einon & his wife ---. [8]
Marriage to Edwyn
Iwerydd married Edwyn ap Gronwy of Tegeingl. [1] Edwyn died in 1104 after a long illness. (DNB 14:1284) Edwyn was allegedly the son of Gronwy ap Einion (died 984) ab Owain ap Hywel Dda (died 950) ap Cadell (died 910), Prince of Deheubarth, ap Rhodri Mawr. [9]
Iwerydd ferch Cynfyn is named as the wife of Edwin of Tegeingl by Stewart Baldwin. [10]

↑ Brut y Tywysogyon 1116 says Iwerydd and Bleddyn were brother and sister by the same father but not the same mother.
However, ABT 2e cites her mother as Angharad ferch Maredudd ap Owain; ABT 1e also makes Angharad the mother of Bleddyn. Wolcott states that he gives more weight to the Brut version as the earlier source. Cited by Darrell Wolcott. The Ancestry of Edwin of Tegeingl Accessed August 4, 2018 jhd
